The Pinisi Schooner "MSY Aurora"

The vessel has been specifically built and refitted to suit long range live aboard scuba diving expeditions and underwater photography. With a 420 hp Mitsubishi engine, the ship is very fast and has a cruising speed of 7-10 knots (with sails) to ensure swift travel.

Diving area: The ship cruises in different areas in Indonesia, according to the monsoons and dry seasons:

Routes:

May/June to mid Sept.: Komodo, start from Bali or Labuan Bajo
September/October: Cruise through Banda See to Sorong/Irian Jaya /
Bali – Labuan Bajo – Maumere – Ambon - Sorong (in separate tours)
In Sorong we’ll spend the “winter months“ from November to March. This region is huge and tours uncountable.
In March /April: We go back clockwise from Sorong – Ambon- Banda See to Komodo and go for dry dock in May.

Massimo Boyer, Massimo Gotti and Heike Bartsch deal on site / alternate on board.

Cabins bow side have own staircase from the open sitting area at bow

Food and Beverage:

• Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, cakes, fruits served as buffet style
• Water, soft drinks, Nescafe /Bali coffee and tea free of charge
• Before the main breakfast/ first dive, guests define what they would like to have for
the “big” breakfast (sunny side up or rather Indonesian soup etc.);
• We always do our best to satisfy special requests, such as for vegetarians, for all meals.

Diving operation:

Dives: 3 dives a day plus night dive whenever possible (please note: sometimes it is not possible to make a night dive, so we don’t guarantee it; however, we’ll do our best to offer a night dive every day).
All dives are guided dives, only in exceptional cases buddy teams can dive on their own.
Usually, no dives during the day of arrival and departure (dives might be possible depending on tour and schedule).
Prerequisites for divers 50 dives and at least ADVANCED diver certification.
OWD can complete the PADI AOWD on board of Aurora. Also, on request and subject to availability, we offer private guides for beginners, supplement 50 EUR per day (see price list).

Diving insurance
For the moment being, no temporary diving insurance possible. We strongly advice the guests to have one prior to departure.
